artist's comments:
This cover illustration was actually used as a frontispiece for Easton Press. They print 1000 collectors item books that are leather bound and signed by the author.  The art director basically gave me carte blanche to produce anything suitable from the book (Old Twentieth). I picked a scene that showed several space ships traveling through our solar system past Jupiter (Oliver, my Agent liked that idea). The ships are based on the text and represent different biospheres that would be needed in such a long voyage to the outer solar system. The art director was thrilled.
