artist's comments:
A children's book illustrator for many years, I work in a variety of styles, all carefully chosen to compliment the market and message of each particular book. My most challenging assignment was an educational series exploring New Zealand and Israel. The project revolved around a very tight deadline. There were 26 full color artworks for one book and 30 illustrations for the other. I finished before the books were due. Both books provided lots of opportunity for rich and vibrant color, which I enjoy using as part of my color palette. I went from sketches to finished art entirely digitally in less than a week for each book. Having a good rapport with the art director was helpful.
The publishers were thrilled with the outcome.
