artist's comments:
This shoot was for SWERVE magazine, which is published weekly in the Calgary Herald. It's a full colour insert that won numerous 'Western Magazine Awards' earlier this year.

The eight page feature that I shot these images for was written by renowned food critic John Gilchrist. It was called "Checking in on Hotel Food: How savvy local hotels are reinventing their menus to appeal to guests and non-guests alike".

The location is Calgary's Hotel Arts (which used to be the Holiday Inn) and has been recently renovated into a hip boutique hotel.

I was also responsible for the styling and art direction.
